Mr. Gothard has practiced casualty litigation in state and federal court for over twenty five (25) years, representing the victims of personal injury. He has represented hundreds of individuals in the areas of wrongful death, motor vehicle collisions, medical malpractice and admiralty. In 1997, he merged his practice to form Nowalsky & Gothard. Since that time, Mr. Gothard has expanded his extensive litigation experience to business litigation, particularly in the telecommunications field.
Mr. Gothard has written and lectured for continuing legal education seminars, typically in the fields of trial advocacy and legal malpractice. He holds an "AV" rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the highest rating an attorney may receive from that publication and is based upon the collective opinion of his peers.
Mr. Gothard has served as a Board member and Officer for numerous non-profit organizations in Louisiana. In 2004 he received the Pro Bono Publico Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association in recognition of his public service. Mr. Gothard received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University in 1982 and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in 1985.
