Mr. Nowalsky has over twenty five (25) years experience in the field of telecommunications law and regulation. In 1985, he began working for Telemarketing Communications of America, Inc. (TMC) as general counsel. TMC was one of the first true switched-based, multi-state telecommunications providers, with operations throughout the mid-south. At TMC, Mr. Nowalsky was in charge of all regulatory and general corporate matters and was lead counsel in TMC's mergers and acquisitions program.
In 1986, TMC, having grown to over $35,000,000 in revenue in 2 1/2 years, was acquired by Satelco, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Telecommunications Corporation (ATC). From 1986 to 1989, Mr. Nowalsky served as Chief Regulatory Counsel for ATC and in 1987 was appointed interim general counsel in charge of all legal affairs of the company. At ATC, Mr. Nowalsky developed extensive knowledge regarding the operation of a competitive long distance carrier and served as lead counsel in ATC's five acquisitions which propelled the company's revenues to over $465 million.
In 1990, Mr. Nowalsky established a private practice concentrated in telecommunications regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate law. In 1992, the firm merged with the law office of Edward Gothard, and is now named Nowalsky & Gothard. The firm continues to represent numerous telecommunications clients, as well as other corporate and individual clients.
Mr. Nowalsky's practice has expanded with the various needs of the telecommunications industry, and now includes nationwide certifications, change of control, carrier agreements, PSC and FCC disputes, technical and financial structuring, receivables funding, collections, and mergers & acquisitions.
Because of his extensive knowledge of all aspects of the telecommunications industry, Mr. Nowalsky has been asked to serve on the board of directors of a number of companies, including Network Long Distance, RFC Capital Corporation, New South Communications, W2Com, LLC, Thermo Credit, LLC, J.C. Dupont, Incorporated, Onstream Media, Incorporated, infinite Conferencing and United eSystems.
Mr Nowalsky received a bachelors degree from Tulane University in 1983 and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in 1985.
